Making Environmental Law Work


In many cases, existing African laws provide norms and empower institutions to protect the environment, but these laws remain underutilized. Drawing upon the experiences of different countries in giving force to these bodies of law – including constitutional environmental law and customary law – ELI has researched opportunities for protecting the environment by implementing and enforcing existing legal authorities.
