Seventeenth Annual ELI Eastern Boot Camp on Environmental Law®

November 10-12, 2008

Offices of Hogan & Hartson LLP
Washington, DC

The Environmental Law Institute has worked with senior practitioners to distill the substance and practice of environmental law into an intensive three-day program for new environmental attorneys working for the law firms, businesses, and non-profit organizations affiliated with ELI's Professional, Corporate, and Public Interest Programs. This unique course will provide participants with a comprehensive examination of key environmental law and practice areas — paying particular attention to emerging issues in the law and in practice. No other course offers as much insight into the actual practice of environmental law.

Environmental Law Boot Camp® is a training opportunity that is available only to ELI members and their invited guests. The course is designed primarily for attorneys new to environmental law and management practice, although experienced practitioners have found past Boot Camps provide a useful refresher affording insight into current practice. The course has a strong legal focus, however, it is accessible to professionals other than lawyers, such as corporate environmental managers, paralegals, and technical staff who need or would benefit from a more thorough understanding of environmental law.

ELI's course is led by more than 20 carefully selected senior practitioners and environmental managers. Topics will include the Clean Air Act, Contaminated Properties, Federal Chemicals Regulation, the Clean Water Act, Property Development Issues (including wetlands, NEPA, and the ESA), Ethical Issues in Environmental Law, Criminal Enforcement Issues, International Environmental Law, and Environmental Liabilities in Business Transactions.
